Clean

Glass provides a level of cleanliness that is simply not achievable in plastics or stainless steel. Much like a typical water glass, Tkaro allows its contents to be visible, assuring no residue and resulting in a continuously clean taste and smell.

Tkaro’s pureness of form and material allow the contents of the glass to be visible, assuring no residue; ideal characteristics of a vessel from which to consume the cleanest of all elements, water. Use it in the consumption of all other types of beverages as well. Add ice cubes or citrus slices, smoothies or the mixed beverage of your choice to Tkaro.

NOTE

Tkaro is dishwasher safe, further providing assurance that you are consuming from the cleanest vessel possible.

Bisphenol A

Bisphenol-A is found in most plastics and has formally been labelled a “toxic substance” by the Government of Canada. Canada’s government has also classified BPA a “hormone disruptor”.

Studies have linked low-dose BPA exposure with such effects as: permanent changes to genital tract; increase prostate weight; decline in testosterone; breast cells predisposed to cancer; prostate cells more sensitive to hormones and cancer; hyperactivity. Read More...

NOTE

In Canada, many products containing BPA have been taken off the shelves as a precautionary measure until non-BPA containers replace them.

Water Quality

Tests of some of the most popular bottled waters have indicated less than desireable results due to fewer regulations on the quality and content of bottled water. Tap water is more highly regulated than bottled water and over 90 percent of water systems meet America’s EPA Standards For Tap Water Quality (If the taste or color is a little off, the pipes are probably at fault; a simple filtration system will correct this.) At least 40 percent of bottled water is tap water anyway (Natural Resources Defense Council).

In Canada, bottled water is regulated as a food product under the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. As such, water bottling plants are inspected on average only once every three years (?!), according to the Polaris Institute, an Ottawa-based research organization. Tap water regulation, on the other hand, is far more stringent. Municipal tap water is tested continuously – both during and after treatment.
